Tips:

  • Tell, don’t ask - Instead of asking someone if you should do a thing, tell them that you intend to do the thing. Most of the time they will agree with you anyways. Telling them what you’ll do gives them the same opportunity to object if they disagree as if you had asked, but switches the default to assuming that they agree with you.
  • Put the essence first in your message - Start with the conclusion or the question, then add context and evidence later in the message.
