Time tracking
Time tracking is the practice of recording of recording what time is spent on. Most people who do time tracking do it for work and categorise the tracked time by which project and client they are doing work for. A few people also track aspects or even all of their time including free time[1][2].
A frequently mentioned benefit of all-day time tracking is that it makes you more aware of how you're spending your time. When you log that you are starting a new activity, it is natural to consider if that is actually the thing you want to be doing at that moment.
Tools
- Toggl Track is a very popular service for time tracking. Lots of other tools integrate with Toggl.
- RescueTime can automatically categorise the time spent on the computer based on the application or browser tap that is currently in focus.
